Programme
- Technical introduction. Regulatory framework (Articles 1678–1738 of the Italian Civil Code and Legislative Decree No. 286/2005) and distinction between shipping contracts (freight forwarder's obligations: carrier selection and ancillary operations) and transport contracts (carrier's liability for the goods).
- Safety obligations. Carrier suitability (REN, transport manager and insurance), management of dangerous goods (ADR), road transport instructions (Article 7 of Legislative Decree No. 286/2005), and coordination of loading/unloading operations (DUVRI).
- The EXW delivery term issue and responsibilities relating to loading operations.
- Proper contract drafting. Key elements: liability limitations, prohibition of unauthorized subcontracting, penalties and insurance policies. Examples (letter of engagement) and case studies on breaches of contract.
- Logistical and tax aspects of Consignment Stock.
